Describe
A cooling tower is a device that uses water as a circulating coolant to absorb heat from a system and discharge it to the atmosphere to reduce the water temperature; its cooling is to use water and air to exchange heat and heat to generate steam, and the steam evaporates to take away heat to achieve evaporation The principle of heat dissipation, convective heat transfer and radiation heat transfer is used to dissipate the waste heat generated in industry or in refrigeration and air conditioning to reduce the water temperature. The evaporative cooling device is used to ensure the normal operation of the system. The device is generally barrel-shaped, so it is called a cooling tower.
The cooling tower is a comprehensive product integrating aerodynamics, thermodynamics, fluids, chemistry, biochemistry, materials science, static and dynamic structural mechanics, processing technology and other disciplines. Water quality is a function of multiple variables, and cooling is a multi-factor, multi-variable and multi-effect comprehensive process.
Industrial counterflow cooling towers are mainly used in manufacturing and processing food industry, pharmaceutical industry, metal casting, plastic industry, rubber industry, textile industry, steel plant, chemical industry, petrochemical products, etc.
Main Feature
The main features of industrial counterflow cooling towers are:
1. Water is in the packing in the tower, water is from top to bottom, air is from bottom to top, and the two flow in opposite directions. A kind of cooling tower.
2. The counterflow cooling tower has good thermal performance and is divided into three cooling sections
(1) In the space from the water distributor to the packing top, the water temperature in this section is relatively high, so heat can still be transferred to the air.
(2) Filling water and air heat exchange section.
(3) Filling to the water spraying section of the sump space, where the water is cooled and called “tail effect”. In northern my country, the water temperature can drop by 1-2°C.
To sum up, under the same conditions, the countercurrent tower has a packing volume about 20% smaller than that of the crossflow tower. The heat exchange process of the countercurrent tower is more reasonable and the cooling efficiency is high.
3. The water distribution system is not easy to be blocked, the water filling is kept clean and not easy to age, the moisture backflow is small, and the anti-freezing and deicing measures are easier. Multiple units can be combined. In winter, depending on the required water temperature and water volume, a single unit can be combined to run or all fans can be stopped.
4. Construction, installation and maintenance are easy, and the cost is low. It is often used in air conditioners and industrial large and medium-sized cooling circulating water.
